I was honoured to be invited to Miraku for their food review. I'm actually a big fan of Japanese food especially sashimiiiiii!! So it's really glad that I can enjoy a decent Thursday dinner at Miraku. It was my second visit and I had a pretty good impression on them! Service is great, food is great, environment is great, everything is great!
A little history behind this fine dining restaurant:
Miraku, simply means a great place for customers to enjoy great food. It is a fine dining restaurant designed to provide the art of Japanese dining to those who desire to experience gourmet food.
Established under the Texchem Group of Companies, Miraku aims to bring the best of Japanese culinary to Malaysia. Miraku also aspires to deliver the essence of Japanese cooking which places top priority in the selection of quality and fresh produce.
Armed with the best and experienced chefs directly brought in from Japan, Miraku is marked to satisfy any food connoisseur's taste buds. On top of it, our exceptionally professional and personalized service will make dining in Miraku an unforgettable experience.
The first dish was Sashimi Moriawase “Matsu” (4-5 pax) for RM180. No doubt this is the best dish for me among all. My favourite sashimi will be raw salmon. I actually prefer raw salmon than cooked salmon. If you never tried any raw sashimi, at least try raw salmon and maybe it'll surprise you! Yet it's rich in Omega 3, a healthy food that you ever need to include in your healthy lifestyle.
Kobe Beef Steak (RM200/100gram) I think I'm consider to have a high acceptable range when it comes to food. I eat almost everything (which for now I can't think of any yet). Beef and lamb are my favourite meat. The beef taste really good but for the chips and vege beside, it was normal.
Miraku Salad (S-RM18; M-RM23; L-RM28) This is the large one and the portion is really big. I'm a big fan of salad too! And the sauce is the point to make it better. For miraku salad it has salmon, crab meat, octopus and scallop. It has 4 dressings to choose from which are tomato, wafu, sesame and mayonnaise.
The sushi beside the salad is
Saba Oshi Sushi (RM36). The topping is marinated mackerel which is quite salty so it's fine just to eaten by itself.
When it comes to Japanese food how can we not order sushi right?? This is dragon roll (RM33) which is deep-fried prawn roll wrapped with avocado. I love avocado because it's rich in healthy fats. Haha. Too bad I can't really taste any good smell of prawn, it's better to eat with the wasabi and sauce.
Did I mention how much I love UNAGIIII??!!!! I think I can eat unagi everyday but they're quite expensive. :/ Here is the Unagi Bou Sushi (RM40) aka eel sushi served pole style in English. I'd recommend not to put any sauce just to enjoy the original taste and the freshness of it. Thumbs up!!
This dish was my least favourite which I think it does not impress me in any way though the tofu is imported all the way from Japan. Tofu Steak (RM14)
Gyu Toban Yaki (RM36), rib eye served on hot plate. It's beef again!! Yayy. There's a sauce on the plate, you can either soak them in sauce first then cook it or the other way round. For me I prefer the first option. Heh. I feel that in this way the sauce will be absorbed better in the rib eye. Nice and tender beef.
Miraku Kami Nabe (RM36) Seafood, chicken and vegetable cooked in Japanese style petite paper hot pot. I didn't get to try this but others said it's good. I think it's good too because it looks damn good. LOL.
Lastly, we must end our dinner with some dessert! Mostly they served ice cream in Japanese food. Obviously it's matcha ice cream topped with red bean (RM12.50) and on the other side the two different ice cream is wasabi ice cream. Needless to say, most Japanese restaurants serve really good matcha ice cream, furthermore it's Miraku. Surprisingly the wasabi ice cream is really good too!! It's actually a mixture of wasabi and vanilla ice cream, if you eat wasabi, do try this out!! A refreshing wasabi mint come after the sweetness of vanilla.
These were the chef of the day! Thank you for making such a lovely dinner.
For the interior design of Miraku, they are pretty well decorated with full of Japanese-ish feel.
Tatami room!
Private room is available too!
